The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Hanna Tetteh, discussed the latest developments regarding the political track in Libya with the Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah bin Dakhil Al-Salmi.
The meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs, Stephanie Koury, covered Tetteh’s recent briefing to the Security Council on October 14, in addition to the political roadmap facilitated by the UN Mission, which aims to support Libyan efforts to unify institutions and hold national elections.
The meeting also emphasized the importance of the role played by Libyan institutions in advancing the roadmap, and the need for the Libyan dialogue to result in consensuses that serve common interests, while stressing the coordination of international support for the UN-sponsored political process.
The Special Representative of the Secretary-General expressed her thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its cooperation and continuous support, praising its regional and international efforts in promoting peace and development.
