The Libyan Center for Cultures Highlights the Protection of Cultural Heritage

Tripoli – Last Sunday evening, the Libyan Center for Local Cultures organized a scientific seminar. The seminar was titled “The Role of Media in Protecting Cultural Heritage.” It took place as part of the “Old City Nights” events in Tripoli.

The seminar discussed the role of traditional and digital media. Academics and experts in cultural and media affairs participated. The media’s role includes documenting heritage. It also raises public awareness of its value. It counters attempts to erase or distort heritage. Speakers emphasized strengthening partnerships. These partnerships are between media institutions and archaeological bodies. They called for intensifying awareness programs. They also urged supporting youth initiatives. These initiatives should highlight and revive local heritage elements.

The event saw significant interaction from attendees. They presented practical initiatives. These initiatives aim to preserve national cultural heritage. Attendees emphasized transforming these ideas into implementable policies and programs. This requires cooperation with relevant decision-makers. The seminar is part of efforts to enhance cultural activity in the Old City. It aims to solidify awareness of heritage’s importance. Heritage is an authentic part of national identity.
