The Public Prosecution for Combating Drugs and Psychotropic Substances in West Tobruk has ordered the imprisonment of two members of a criminal gang that specialized in trafficking narcotic substances.
The head of the Al-Butnan branch of the Criminal Investigation Department explained that the gang’s activities were tracked, as it was planning to transport quantities of hashish and cocaine by land from Tobruk to Tripoli and then to Al-Ajaylat.
The operation of monitoring and tracking the movement of the illicit substances resulted in the arrest of two suspects caught red-handed in possession of 118 kilograms of hashish and 24 kilograms of cocaine.
After initiating the investigation, the Public Prosecution directed the arrest of the remaining members of the criminal gang involved in the trafficking operations.
