The Tripoli Criminal Court sentenced a company representative to three years in prison after he was convicted of embezzling public funds.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that the incident was carried out in conspiracy with a public official in the Zuwara municipality’s health sector by creating forged documents indicating that medical equipment and supplies had been received when they had not.
The court ordered the defendant to repay the amount of 4,870,300 dinars and stripped him of his civil rights for the duration of his sentence plus an additional year. In accordance with the Purification Law, he was also banned from all legal powers, eligibility, and privileges.
