Benghazi – The Badminton Subcommittee for the Eastern Region organized on Saturday, at the Al-Najma Club hall in Benghazi, the qualifiers for the Benghazi Championship, which leads to the Libya Championship. The event was held under the supervision of the President of the Libyan Badminton Federation, Tawfiq Al-Haddad, and his assistant, Mohamed Youssef, with the participation of 23 male and female players from various age groups.
The championship saw the participation of Al-Najma, Al-Madina, and Al-Hadaf clubs in a sporting atmosphere full of enthusiasm and fair competition. The categories included Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Seniors.
The final results were as follows:
Under-12:
First Place: Nour Al-Din Adel – Al-Najma Club
Second Place: Islam Youssef – Al-Hadaf Club
Under-14:
First Place: Osama Abdullah – Al-Najma Club
Second Place: Ahmed Hatem – Al-Hadaf Club
Under-16 (Girls):
First Place: Alaa Fares – Al-Najma Club
Second Place: Leen Al-Awami – Al-Madina Club
Third Place: Katy Tarek – Al-Madina Club
Seniors:
First Place: Bashir Abdullah – Al-Najma Club
Second Place: Wiam Al-Hilal – Al-Najma Club
Third Place: Youssef Mohammed – Al-Hadaf Club
The participating teams were coached by: Hakim Ashboub (Al-Madina Club), Ahmed Al-Athram (Al-Najma Club), and Saif Al-Faqi (Al-Hadaf Club).
The report issued by coach Fathia Al-Amami stated that the championship was excellently organized and widely attended. She affirmed that this event highlights the remarkable development of badminton in the Eastern Region, praising the efforts of the technical and administrative staff who contributed to the tournament’s success and qualified a group of elite players for the upcoming Libya Championship finals.
