Tunisian foreign minister, UN advisor discuss Libya

Tunisia’s Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi spoke on the phone yesterday with U.N. Advisor on Libya, Stephanie Williams, to discuss the latter’s efforts in bringing Libyan parties together to establish a legal framework for the elections.

Jerandi expressed his country’s confidence in “the Libyans’ ability to reach the necessary consensus to ensure the best conditions for the success of the upcoming political elections,” according to a statement by the Tunisian foreign ministry.

For her part, Williams commended “Tunisia’s permanent support for Libya” especially the role played by President Kais Saied in that regard.
