UN calls for maintaining stability and calm in Libya on revolution anniversary

UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) called on the Libyans to maintain stability and calm in the country, reiterating its commitment to continue its efforts to support all Libyans in engaging in an inclusive and consensual political process that leads to free and fair national elections as soon as possible.

This came in a congratulatory statement to the Libyan people on the eleventh anniversary of the February 17 Revolution, that toppled former leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011 .

For her part, UN Secretary-General Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, called on the Libyans on the occasion to inspire authentic national values ​​to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, consensus and comprehensive reconciliation, and moving Libya to a secure and stable future that meets the aspirations of all Libyans.
