UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily said he met with the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) Speaker, Agila Saleh, in Benghazi to discuss the legal framework for general elections.
“We agreed to resolve the outstanding issues so the electoral process can be successfully implemented,” Bathily tweeted.
“UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) remains committed to engaging with all actors to facilitate compromise on contested issues, including a unified administration, so Libya can hold transparent, credible elections as soon as possible,” UN envoy pointed out.
