Stephanie Williams, the U.N. Envoy to Libya, arrived in Misurata today where she met with members of the city’s municipal council and a group of members of House of Representatives and High Council of State from the city.
She discussed with the Libyan interlocutors the current political situation, including the electoral process, according to her statement on Twitter.
“I stressed that the United Nations strongly supports the desire of the Libyan people to hold free, fair and credible elections,” she said.
“We also discussed the pressing need for economic reforms, decentralization and transparent management of Libya’s resources.”
