Tripoli – The Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Stephanie Khoury, discussed with members of the sovereign positions committees of the House of Representatives and the High Council of State the progress made in the first phase of the roadmap, regarding the reconstitution of the board of the High National Elections Commission.
During the discussion, the Mission welcomed the progress achieved between the two councils, with Khoury stressing the importance of completing this preliminary step and emphasizing the need to achieve tangible results within the next few days.
The United Nations Support Mission in Libya also renewed its full readiness to support all efforts aimed at implementing the first steps of the political process, in a way that enhances the consensual path among the Libyan parties.
