UN, Tunisia emphasize need for political dialogue and maintaining calm in Libya
UN Special Adviser on Libya, Stephanie Williams, met Wednesday in Tunis with Tunisian Foreign Minister, Othman Jerandi, where they emphasized need for pursuing path of political dialogue and maintaining calm in Libya.
“I had the honor to meet with H.E. Mr. Othman Jerandi, Foreign Minister of Tunisia, yesterday. We emphasized the need for all Libyan actors to continue to pursue the path of political dialogue and to maintain the calm, placing the interests of the Libyan people above all,” Williams tweeted on Thursday.
“I highlighted the important role of Tunisia and neighboring countries to promote dialogue between Libyans at this critical juncture and commended Tunisia for their constructive role in support of a Libyan-led and Libyan-owned path towards peace, security and stability,” UN adviser added.
