On International Anti-Corruption Day, U.S. Embassy in Libya said it underscores the calls heard each day from Libyans for meaningful progress on combatting corruption to ensure that Libya’s wealth benefits all Libyans.
“Transparency and accountability are key to good governance,” the Embassy said in a statement on Friday.
“The 2022 International Anti-Corruption Day seeks to highlight the crucial link between anti-corruption and peace, security, and development which is also relevant for Libya,” the statement pointed out.
“It’s international AntiCorruption Day. All countries battle with corruption. It has negative impacts on every aspect of society and is intertwined with conflict, instability, jeopardizing social and economic development and undermining democratic institutions & the rule of law,” it added.
