Stephanie Williams, the former United Nations’ acting Libya envoy and US diplomat, hailed the reopening of the coastal road between Sirte and Misurata, which links eastern and western Libya, as announced by the Joint Military Commission 5+5 formed by representatives of the Libyan National Army and armed groups from western Libya.
The 5+5 Commission did well by reopening the coastal road today. This is a good opportunity for the Libyan people and an auspicious result of efforts to bring East and West closer together,” Williams tweeted.
