The Head of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qadirbouh, conducted a field visit to the National Council for Economic and Social Development, accompanied by members of the House of Representatives Omar Tantoush, Chairman of the Planning, Finance, and General Budget Committee, and Amer Omran, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, in addition to Muhannad Al-Mawi, Director of the Authority Head’s Office. They were received by Mahmoud Al-Futaisi, the Director-General of the Council.
Monitoring the Implementation of National Strategies
According to the Authority’s media office, the visit is part of the Administrative Control Authority’s monitoring of the implementation of national strategies and the extent of compliance by competent authorities. It also aims to review the efforts undertaken by the Council in the fields of planning and economic and social development.
Reviewing Development Programs and Policies
During the visit, the Head of the Authority and his accompanying delegation were briefed on the workflow within the Council. They reviewed the ongoing development programs and policies, and the mechanisms adopted for monitoring national priorities aimed at improving economic and social performance and increasing the efficiency of public institutions.
Emphasizing the Council’s Role in Supporting Government Work
Qadirbouh affirmed the Council’s pivotal role in proposing executive policies and strategies and supporting the government’s work. He stressed that the Administrative Control Authority places special emphasis on monitoring the implementation of national plans and ensuring adherence to them in accordance with the standards of transparency and good governance.
Enhancing Cooperation Among Institutions
Qadirbouh highlighted the importance of integrating the roles of the Council and the executive, regulatory, and legislative bodies. This, he noted, enhances the efficiency of development program management and ensures the achievement of sustainable development goals, in accordance with the principles stipulated in Resolution No. (118) of 2022 regarding the reorganization of the National Council for Economic and Social Development.
Part of the Authority’s Plan to Monitor Institutional Performance
This visit is part of the Administrative Control Authority’s initiative to monitor the institutional performance of councils and bodies related to planning and development, and to ensure the sound implementation of national strategies in a manner that serves the public interest and supports the country’s economic and administrative reform process.
