Researchers from the Department of Museums and Archaeological Stores at the Benghazi Antiquities Inspectorate are continuing the conservation and maintenance of recently registered artifacts, as part of the Inspectorate’s efforts to preserve archaeological pieces.
The researchers have begun to arrange the pieces inside the warehouse in an organized manner that suits the space, in addition to devising preservation methods that are appropriate for the current capabilities, ensuring the protection of these holdings from deterioration.
The Head of the Department of Museums and Archaeological Stores confirmed that this work is part of a comprehensive plan aimed at improving the storage environment and increasing the efficiency of artifact preservation, in preparation for making them available in the future for scientific research and museum display.
She also praised the efforts of the researchers who are working with high professionalism despite the challenges, driven by their commitment to safeguarding the archaeological heritage of the city of Benghazi and preserving its archaeological treasures.
