Benghazi – The Investigations and Arrest Administration of the Criminal Investigation Department succeeded on Sunday in recovering a stolen car that was taken in an armed robbery in Tripoli, through a well-executed ambush in the Al-Salam neighborhood of Benghazi.
In an official statement, the department explained that the vehicle, a white Kia Forte, was stolen in the Al-Swani area of the capital, Tripoli, where a report was filed immediately after the incident.
After careful investigations and monitoring of the vehicle in the Al-Salam neighborhood in Benghazi, a well-planned ambush was set up, resulting in the arrest of the person in possession of the car.
During interrogations, the accused admitted that he had moved the car from the city of Zawiya with the help of a resident there, which led to his arrest and legal detention. The car was impounded pending necessary legal procedures.
The statement indicated that investigations are still ongoing, with warrants and circulars being prepared for the arrest of the other individuals involved, while the competent authorities are making arrangements to return the vehicle to its original owner.
