Ghadames – The Ghadames Municipal Council, on Sunday morning, issued an urgent appeal to the city’s residents, calling on them to immediately head to the Al-Jinan Al-Kabeer farms to support the National Safety Authority teams in their ongoing efforts to control a fire that broke out in the agricultural area.
In an official statement, the Council stressed that the rapid response of citizens and their on-the-ground assistance to firefighting teams will be a crucial factor in containing the fire and limiting its spread, emphasizing the importance of preserving lives and agricultural property, which serves as a source of livelihood for many families.
The statement added that community participation in such emergencies is a national duty and a collective responsibility, calling on all citizens of the city to unite and stand side-by-side to protect Ghadames and its agricultural environment.
This appeal comes amid growing concerns that the fire could spread, while firefighting teams are making strenuous efforts to extinguish it and prevent it from reaching other areas.
