Benghazi – The Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Awad Al-Badri, on Tuesday inspected the progress of the project to connect the (Al-Kish – Central Benghazi – Man-Made River) stations, which has reached its final stages.
The project is being implemented by the National Company for Electrical Works with a total length of 3300 meters at a voltage of 30 kV, and is considered one of the most vital projects for improving the performance of the electrical grid in Benghazi.
Those in charge explained that the first phase was successfully completed by connecting the Man-Made River station with the city center station, while the completion rate for the second phase – connecting the city center station with the Al-Kish station – has reached about 90%, and is expected to be completed within two weeks.
The Minister affirmed that the project will contribute to easing loads, reducing load shedding hours, and achieving permanent stability of the electrical current. He stressed the need to expedite its completion within the specified deadlines, noting that the Ministry is working in coordination with the Reconstruction Fund on other projects to meet the increasing demand for electricity.
