Al-Bayda – The Al-Bayda Criminal Court issued its verdicts. This was for a public lawsuit filed by the Public Prosecution. It was against five defendants. They were involved in cultivating Indian cannabis plants for trafficking. This activity took place on a farm in Wadi Al-Akki.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office reported the court convicted the defendants. The first, second, and third defendants received life imprisonment. Each was also fined fifty thousand dinars. The fourth and fifth defendants were sentenced to ten years in prison. Each was fined three thousand dinars. All convicted individuals were deprived of their civil rights.
The court affirmed these verdicts. They are part of the Libyan judiciary’s efforts. These efforts aim to combat drug trafficking. They also protect society from related crimes.
