In Libya, presidential candidate Suleiman Al-Bayoudi described Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh’s recent speech. He called it an attempt to divert public discontent. This anger stems from his government’s failures. The economic crisis is escalating. Dbeibeh is trying to direct this anger towards medical staff.
Al-Bayoudi spoke to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper. He stated that the country faces a suffocating cost of living crisis. Prices are spiraling out of control. Queues for goods and fuel have reappeared. The value of the dinar has also collapsed.
He indicated that the “Unity” government is no longer capable of addressing challenges. It also cannot offer solutions. According to Al-Bayoudi, Dbeibeh has resorted to populist rhetoric. He has confined the failures to a single sector.
