Al-Makhzoum minimizes the danger of developments on the UN map and expects a new political dialogue

Former National Congress Vice President Saleh Al-Makhzoum downplayed current events. He spoke about their seriousness for the UN roadmap’s future. He noted that the mission had previously rejected splitting the commission.

Al-Makhzoum is a member of the Democratic Party. He gave a statement to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper. He suggested the mission might start a new political dialogue. This dialogue would include members from the House of Representatives. It would also involve the High Council of State. Political and civil elites would participate. Influential social and tribal figures would join.

He clarified the potential goals of this dialogue. It might decide the commission’s file. Electoral laws could also be settled. The dialogue might lead to a unified government. This government would prepare for elections.
