The head of the General Authority for Hajj and Umrah Affairs, Ibrahim Al-Saghir, announced the start of this year’s Hajj season. He said the authority has taken the necessary measures for prospective pilgrims. They can now enroll in the newly opened lottery system.
These measures mark the beginning of preparations for the season. They follow extensive work by the authority to reach this stage for the official announcement.
Al-Saghir noted that setting requirements involved multiple consultations. These conditions relate to age, quotas, and slots for senior citizens. He explained some criteria could cause issues. This led the authority to adopt key requirements. The most important is that applicants must not have performed Hajj before. This applies to both private trips and the official Libyan mission.
The authority has been preparing contracts for over two months. These cover housing, transportation, and accommodation at the holy sites. Over 75% of these logistical requirements are now complete. Contracts have been signed with major companies to provide the best services.
Applicants must register in the Hajj system. They need to verify their national ID and phone number. Afterward, they can log in and enter the required data. A verification code will be sent to their phone. This code enables them to complete their registration for this year’s lottery.
