Lawyer Thuraya Al-Tuwaibi congratulated the Libyan people. She announced the suspension of Resolution No. 49. The resolution granted Arab nationals the same rights as Libyans. It allowed them to work in public administration and state institutions.
Al-Tuwaibi posted the update on her personal Facebook page. She said the administrative circuit of the Tripoli Court of Appeal issued an urgent ruling on her appeal.
She reported the court accepted the appeal on procedural grounds. It also ordered the suspension of the contested resolution. The suspension will remain until a final verdict is reached on the merits of the case.
She clarified this means the resolution’s implementation is paused. The court will review the case. It will then either accept the lawsuit and annul the resolution, or reject the case entirely.
