Benghazi – The Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office in Benghazi has ordered the detention of the administrative and financial affairs official at Al-Brega General Hospital. Judicial police were instructed to apprehend and present the financial affairs controller. These measures are taken in connection with cases. They involve misuse of official authority and embezzlement of public funds.
The prosecution reported that investigations revealed the defendants’ misconduct. They deviated from their public service duties. The defendants deliberately embezzled 340,000 dinars. These funds were designated to support the medical institution. The support was for medical and auxiliary medical staff. They signed service contracts with offices. These offices were managed by the financial controller. This was intended to complicate inspection procedures. It also aimed to cover up their violations.
Investigations also indicated the defendants intended to misappropriate 715,000 dinars. This amount was used for unauthorized purposes. This action violated laws and legislation. These regulations govern financial expenditure in public institutions.
Based on the investigation’s findings, the Public Prosecution Office decided. It provisionally detained the administrative and financial affairs official. He is held pending the case. The office will continue to pursue the financial controller. Necessary legal actions will be taken against him.
