Benghazi – The Awlad Shukr tribe in the Eastern Region, through an official statement signed by the tribe’s Sheikh, Jumaa Al-Gaddafi Al-Shukri, announced its full joining of the National Movement, affirming its slogan, “Oh Libya, we will not let you down,” and its standing alongside all Libyan tribes in what it described as the “battle for the homeland” to protect Libya’s security and stability.
The statement added that the tribe affirms its steadfast support for the rights of the Libyan people and their legitimate aspirations, stressing that the interest of the homeland and the citizen is above all considerations. The tribe also renewed its commitment to exert all efforts to achieve the aspirations of Libyans for a better future and to work to ensure stability and security in the country.
The statement indicated the tribe’s complete rejection of the state of political stagnation, considering that expediting elections is the only option capable of building the state and preserving its security and stability. The Awlad Shukr tribe affirmed that its sons, from all its components, stand united behind the National Movement that supports holding elections, in appreciation of the sacrifices of Libyans who gave their lives for the homeland.
The statement also stressed that the tribe will continue to support all national efforts that serve the interest of Libya and achieve the people’s aspirations for a strong and stable state, affirming that its participation comes within the framework of strengthening national unity and rallying around the supreme interests of the homeland, ensuring a better future for coming generations.
