Benghazi – The Benghazi branch of the Municipal Guard, acting on instructions from Major General Tawfiq Al-Warfali, has shut down two private neonatal clinics after discovering serious health and legal violations within them.
The closure occurred during a field inspection involving the branch’s Pharmacy Unit, Director of Public Order Prosecution Mr. Mohammed Al-Ramli, Prosecutor Jibril Al-Sulaimani, members from Food Control and Environmental Sanitation, and a member from the Health Inspection Unit.
During the inspection, authorities found expired medications being used on patients, foul odors inside one of the clinics, unusable medical instruments, and the absence of a necessary sterilization device. An entire operating room was also closed for failing to comply with the health standards and requirements that ensure the safety of patients and children and prevent the transmission of diseases.
Legal proceedings will continue against the violators in accordance with the regulations governing the operation of private health facilities.
