The President of the Libyan Presidential Council (LPC), Mohamed al-Menfi, has called for an end to the plans of the Israeli occupation forces for a ground invasion of Gaza Strip.

The Libyan outgoing prime minister Abdel Hamid Dbeibeh announced Thursday that Libya is to establish a new maritime zone subject to the authority of the Libyan state, extending the maritime borders from 12 to 24 nautical miles.

The United Nations Security Council is expected to vote on a draft resolution renewing the mandate of the Panel of Experts (PoE) of the 1970 Libya Sanctions Committee and the authorization of measures contained in resolution 2146 of 19 March 2014 related to the illicit export of petroleum from Libya. The draft resolution in blue also contains several new provisions concerning the arms embargo and assets freeze measures imposed by resolution 1970 of 26 February 2011 and modified by subsequent resolutions.
The United Nations envoy to Libya Abdoulaye Bathily alerted the Security Council on Monday to the risks of violent conflict involved by a unilateral appointment of a government by any of the rival Libyan parties.
The Head of the U.N. Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Abdoulaye Bathily, briefed the Security Council on the massive flash floods that hit Libya, noting that the thousands of lives lost by the dam bursts which destroyed whole neighbourhoods after Storm Daniel slammed the country on 10 September.
