Central Bank of Libya announces a yield exceeding expectations for certificates of deposit and sets the margin for the next issue

Al-Fitouri: Central Bank’s policies may increase the burden of living on citizens

The Central Bank announced profits from speculative deposit certificates. It set the launch of the next issue for February 16.

The Central Bank of Libya announced the profits achieved. These profits came from investment and speculation in unrestricted deposit certificates. This refers to the first issue of 2025. The profits cover the three-month period ending February 1st. A profit margin of 10.878% was achieved. This rate exceeds the expected rate. The expected rate was announced in the issue’s subscription prospectus.

A statement from the Central Bank of Libya confirmed its intention.  The bank plans to launch the next issue on February 16. The expected profit margin for this issue ranges between 8% and 10%.

The Central Bank concluded its statement. It emphasized the importance of investor participation. This participation is in unrestricted speculative deposit certificates. It supports the national economy and its stability. It also achieves competitive returns for investors.
