Beijing – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on the international community. He urged greater attention to Africa. He also called for increased investment in the continent. Wang Yi spoke in an interview with Chinese media. This followed his visits to the African Union headquarters, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Lesotho. He stated that global modernization is only possible if China and Africa work together. Without modernization in Africa, there will be no modernization globally.
Wang expressed his pleasure at Africa’s new development achievements during his visit. He affirmed that China’s huge market will offer broader opportunities for African development. Wang said China is the largest developing country. The African Union is the continental organization with the most developing nations. Both must work together to face current challenges. This protects their legitimate rights and interests. It also contributes to global peace and development.
The Chinese Foreign Minister affirmed the time is right. It is time to enhance strategic mutual trust. It is also time to deepen strategic cooperation between China and the African Union. He stated his country’s readiness to drive Africa’s development and renaissance. Wang added that since the successful Beijing Summit. This was for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in September 2024. Both sides have worked to implement its outcomes. Over 90% of the goals have been achieved or have made positive progress.
