Tripoli – Abu Bakr Al-Tawil met Fredrik Peterson. Al-Tawil is the Director of European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity. Peterson is the newly appointed Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM). The meeting took place this Monday morning.
Al-Tawil congratulated Peterson on his appointment. The meeting was held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli. They reviewed the necessary procedures for his official accreditation. Peterson’s previous experience as deputy head was also noted.
Al-Tawil assured Peterson of the department’s full support. The department is ready to overcome any possible difficulties. He wished Peterson success in his new duties.
They also exchanged views on future cooperation prospects. This cooperation is between the European Affairs Department and EUBAM. It aims to enhance joint coordination. It will also serve national priorities.
