Traghen – The Committee for Reviewing and Classifying Medicines and Determining the Needs of Health Facilities in the South has commenced its fieldwork as part of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar’s “Together for the South” initiative, under the supervision of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Ahmid Houma.
Naji al-Sufi, Director of the Fezzan 24 Traghen platform, explained that the committee held its first meeting on November 5, chaired by Dr. Mustafa Ali al-Saghir, to develop a work plan and define technical tasks. This was in preparation for an extensive tour that included a number of municipalities in Wadi al-Shati, such as Timsan, Buqadqud, Agar, al-Qardah, Brak, Nazrik, and Barqan.
During the tour, the committee met with the directors of health centers and hospitals and assessed the level of available medical services. It also documented the actual needs for medicines, medical supplies, and necessary equipment to improve the performance of the health sector and ensure the continuity of services.
The committee is currently preparing a comprehensive report that includes the findings of the visits and all identified requirements, in preparation for its submission to the Office of the Prime Ministry in the Southern Region to provide the necessary support for the health facilities.
