The Representatives form a committee to meet the Governor of the Central Bank and his deputy to discuss the matters requiring answers before the Council

Benghazi – The House of Representatives voted by a majority today, Monday. They approved forming a technical committee. This committee will meet with the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, his deputy, and the bank’s board of directors. The purpose is to discuss matters requiring answers before the council.

This decision was made during an official session. The session was held at the council’s headquarters in Benghazi. It was chaired by the Speaker of the House, Counselor Aguila Saleh. First Deputy Speaker Fawzi Al-Nuairi and Second Deputy Speaker Misbah Douma were also present.

According to House of Representatives spokesman Abdullah Bliheg, the committee will discuss several issues. These include the shortage of cash liquidity and the exchange rate. They will also address delayed salaries and how to resolve these issues. The committee expects the Governor and his deputy to attend the next session. The committee is tasked with submitting its report to the council as soon as possible.

The session began with a request to postpone today’s summons. The Central Bank Governor, his deputy, and the bank’s board made this request. The Libyan government and the National Oil Corporation also requested the postponement. They cited various reasons. They also sought more time for preparation for the next session.

The council also discussed a proposed anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism law. Following deliberation, its discussion was postponed to a future session. The session was then adjourned.
