The Public Prosecution has initiated criminal proceedings against 9 defendants after they were arrested inside the Zliten iron factory using devices specialized for mining cryptocurrencies like “Bitcoin,” in violation of current legislation.
In its most recent session, the Tripoli Court of Appeals convicted the defendants, sentencing them to three years in prison and ordering them to return the benefits they obtained in violation of the law.
The court also ordered the confiscation of all mining devices and equipment that were used inside the factory for these illegal activities.
