Final works advance on the “Long Live Libya” highway project in Sirte

The Director-General of the National Development Agency, Mahmoud Elforjani, accompanied by the managers of the General and Strategic Projects Department, conducted a field visit to monitor the pace of the final works on the “Long Live Libya” highway project in the city of Sirte, as part of the major development projects supervised by the agency with the support and guidance of the General Command.

During the visit, the Director-General expressed his appreciation for the efforts made to ensure the project is implemented according to the highest quality standards and on schedule, emphasizing that the project is one of the vital arteries in the plan to reconstruct the city of Sirte and develop its infrastructure.

The road extends for ten kilometers and consists of three lanes in each direction, including sidewalks, medians, and modern lighting. It connects the center of Sirte—the extension of Dubai Street—to the international coastal road and the airport road via the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar Bridge, making it a strategic traffic hub that contributes to alleviating congestion and improving movement both inside and outside the city.

The project is currently witnessing tangible progress in its final stages in preparation for its upcoming inauguration. It will be added to the record of development and reconstruction projects supervised by the National Development Agency, as part of a comprehensive national vision aimed at building a modern and sustainable infrastructure that supports the path of growth and development in various Libyan cities.
