Gas flows from Libya to Italy have resumed after an interruption that lasted about two weeks due to a vast restructuring of the Mellitah plants, located on the North African coast.

According to Libyan energy expert Mahmud Mohammed, operations restarts at the Mellitah complex on May 16 evening after 16 days of hiatus.

Citing data from Italian oil services company Snam, Italian news agency Nova reported that gas flows relating to the relevant points of the national transport network showed an interruption of gas flows from Libya to Italy from 30 April to 15 May.

On 16 May, around 3 million cubic meters of gas arrived at the arrival point in Gela, confirming the recovery of flows, albeit below the average of around 7-9 million per day before the works.
