Government didn’t comply with parliament notes on budget, says Libyan MP

The Government of National Unity has failed to comply with the technical remarks made by the House of Representatives regarding the budget, Abdel Salam Nassiyah, a member of parliament, told the House on Wednesday.

Nassiyah, who also chair the House Finance Committee, denied allegations which claims that the House was deliberately obstructing the adoption of budget bill.

In a speech during today’s parliamentary questioning of the government, the Libyan lawmaker accused the government of spending five billion Libyan Dinars (about one billion USD) as part of the contingency amendment, despite its failure to respond to the Coronavirus pandemic and the electricity crisis.
