Benghazi – The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, emphasized the important role of education. He stated that education builds the nation’s future and strengthens the values of belonging and giving. This came during his attendance at the Teacher and Student Festival. The event was held under the slogan “A Generation Builds the Nation” at the Benghazi International Stadium.
The Director-General of the Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund, Engineer Belgasim Haftar, attended the festival. The First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, and the Second Deputy Speaker, Misbah Douma, were also present. Official delegations from friendly countries attended the event. The festival saw wide participation from educational institutions, teachers, students, and parents. The festive atmosphere reflected the state of security, stability, and renaissance in the city of Benghazi.
The Commander-in-Chief expressed his happiness with the attendance of students and youth. He stressed that the security, stability, development, and reconstruction in Benghazi today are due to God. He also credited the sacrifices of the martyrs and wounded of the armed forces.
Furthermore, he emphasized that youth represent the hope and future of Libya. He called on students to hold fast to science and knowledge. He also urged them to respect the teacher as the essential pillar in building human beings and the advancement of nations.
