Benghazi – The Head of the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency, Major General Salah Mahmoud Al-Khafiifi, received the Head of the accredited Syrian community in Libya, Faiz Hussein, and his accompanying delegation this morning at his office in the agency’s headquarters, in a visit aimed at enhancing cooperation and discussing issues of common interest.
The meeting included an honoring ceremony for Major General Al-Khafiifi by the Syrian community in recognition of his role in addressing the community’s situation, regulating residency, and ensuring respect for laws, which contributes to protecting the rights of expatriates and promoting humanitarian and social stability.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed prospects for future cooperation at the local level through coordination with competent authorities, and at the international level by strengthening communication with relevant bodies to support the community’s humanitarian and organizational programs.
Al-Khafiifi affirmed the agency’s commitment to providing possible facilities within legal frameworks, praising the constructive role of the Syrian community and its positive contributions in Libya. In turn, the head of the community expressed his thanks and appreciation to Major General Al-Khafiifi, emphasizing the community’s keenness to expand areas of cooperation for mutual benefit.
This visit comes as part of efforts to strengthen the brotherly relations between the Libyan and Syrian peoples, and to fortify the humanitarian partnership between the Syrian community and Libyan state institutions.
