The Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) set 13 conditions for running for the position of prime minister of the “Stability Government,” which was decided to be formed after the end of the legal mandate of the Government of National Unity (GNU), headed by Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh.
The conditions set by HoR on Tuesday’s session, as stated by Spokesman Abdulla Bleihiq, were as follows:
1- The candidate must be a Libyan and a Muslim, of Libyan Muslim parents.
2- He/she shall not hold the nationality of another country.
3- He/she should not be married to a non-Libyan.
4- must not be less than 35 years old at the time of candidacy.
5- must have at least a university degree or its equivalent from an accredited university.
6- To submit a certificate of good conduct and behavior.
7- should not have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude or dishonesty.
8- shall be medically fit to carry out his duties.
9- To submit a written pledge not to run for the upcoming elections.
10- To submit his/her resignation before candidacy according to the laws regulating the work of the candidate.
11- To obtain the recommendation of 25 members of the House of Representatives.
12- To submit a financial disclosure statement.
13- Any other conditions stipulated in the laws and legislations in force.
