The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), Aqila Saleh, met Monday in his office in al-Qubba, with the Defense Minister of the new government, Ahmeid Houma.
Saleh discussed, during the meeting with Houma, the latest developments in the country on all levels, according to HoR Media Center.
The Center did not provide any details about the meeting, at a time when the government appointed by the House of Representatives, headed by Fathi Bashagha, has not assumed its duties pending the entry of the capital, Tripoli.
While Prime Minister Fathi Bashagha sticks to working from Tripoli after taking over the government headquarters in the capital, the outgoing Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, is still clinging to power and refusing to hand over before the elections are held.
It is expected that Cairo will host on Tuesday a meeting of the joint committee formed by the House of Representatives and the High Council of State, in the presence of the Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephanie Williams, to agree on the constitutional rule.
