A Belarusian news site called “Reformation” has published photos. They show Libyan security personnel training in Belarus. The training focused on dispersing protests and riots with batons.
According to the site, the training involved members of the Libyan Ministry of Interior. It centered on principles for maintaining internal security. The photos showed trainees practicing crowd control tactics. Belarusian instructors supervised the exercises.
This cooperation follows a visit to Libya last November. A delegation from the Belarusian Ministry of Interior came to the country. The group included Internal Security Forces Commander Mikalai Karpenkov. The head of Minsk’s riot police unit, Mikalai Maksimovich, was also present. They discussed ways to strengthen security and training cooperation.
