Italy delivered to Libya the first batch of medical equipment for local hospitals in Surman and Sabratha in the Northwest and Murzuq in the Southwest, in addition to a 500-kilowatt power generator to Ibn Sina Hospital in Sirte in the Mid-North to support the urgent needs of the people.
Italian Embassy in Tripoli said the delivery was made through the Ponte Della Solidarity – Phase II initiative, in cooperation with the Interior and Health Ministries of the Government of National Unity (GNU) in Tripoli, Italian agency Nova reported.
The program, with a total value of €10 million, funded by the Italian Foreign Ministry, includes 24 municipalities across Libya.
A second batch is expected to arrive soon with other supplies, medicines and medical aid, ambulances, waste trucks, generators, water pumps, school buses, fire trucks and sewage trucks.
