Italy provides aid to Libyan municipalities to meet urgent needs

Italy delivered to Libya the first batch of medical equipment for local hospitals in Surman and Sabratha in the Northwest and Murzuq in the Southwest, in addition to a 500-kilowatt power generator to Ibn Sina Hospital in Sirte in the Mid-North to support the urgent needs of the people.

Italian Embassy in Tripoli said the delivery was made through the Ponte Della Solidarity – Phase II initiative, in cooperation with the Interior and Health Ministries of the Government of National Unity (GNU) in Tripoli, Italian agency Nova reported.

The program, with a total value of €10 million, funded by the Italian Foreign Ministry, includes 24 municipalities across Libya.

A second batch is expected to arrive soon with other supplies, medicines and medical aid, ambulances, waste trucks, generators, water pumps, school buses, fire trucks and sewage trucks.
