U.S. welcomes meeting of Libya’s neighboring countries in Algeria

Algerian Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra, briefed U.S. Envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, on Algeria’s plans to host foreign ministers from neighboring countries in support of Libya’s elections and efforts to stop the spread of violence emanating from Libya’s south, said U.S. Embassy in Libya.

“The United States welcomes this initiative as part of international efforts to stabilize Libya and the region, and secure the withdrawal of foreign forces including foreign fighters and mercenaries,” the Embassy tweeted on Monday.
