Al-Nawfaliyah – An extensive campaign was launched. It aims to remove illegal connections on water supply lines. These lines are part of the Al-Nawfaliyah agricultural project. The project is located east of Harawa. It includes about 170 farms. This effort protects the water distribution system. It also ensures its sustainability.
Engineer Shuaib Bin Sharada explained the campaign’s purpose. He is the head of the management committee for the First Phase Industrial River Water Investment Authority in the Central Region. The campaign aims to maintain the efficiency of the industrial river system. It also prevents encroachments. These encroachments affect the fair distribution of water among farms.
Several entities participated in the campaign’s execution. These include the Agricultural Police Authority, Sirte Central Branch. Specialized security agencies also took part. Engineers and supervisors from the First Phase Industrial River Water Investment Authority were involved. The Industrial River Protection Battalion in the Central Region also participated.
The head of the Agricultural Police Authority’s Central Sirte branch confirmed significant removals. Many illegal connections on water supply routes were dismantled. These encroachments caused water shortages for over seventy farms. This occurred despite farmers relying on diverse crops. These crops include tomatoes and watermelons.
He added that legal action has been taken against violators. The illegal connections have been removed. This step aims to restore balance in water distribution. It ensures fair access for all farmers.
The campaign targets reducing encroachments on the industrial river system. It promotes optimal use of water resources. This contributes to agricultural production stability. It also improves water supply efficiency in the region.
