The head of Libya’s Administrative Control Authority (ACA), Abdullah Qaderbou, met with the Italian ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, at the ACA headquarters in Tripoli on Tuesday, where they agreed to bolster bilateral cooperation between the two countries across various oversight and anti-corruption domains.
According to a Facebook post by the ACA, the meeting between Qaderbou and the Italian envoy focused on enhancing cooperation in a diverse array of fields, as well as following up on joint projects that Libya and Italy are collaborating on.
The authority stated that the meeting reviewed “efforts aimed at strengthening mutual cooperation between Italy’s Guardia di Finanza financial authorities and Italy’s anti-corruption agency, with an agreement on the importance of opening new avenues of cooperation across various oversight and anti-graft areas.”
Qaderbou indicated that this meeting “reflects the ACA’s commitment to international cooperation and strengthening bilateral relations in the spheres of oversight and anti-corruption, presenting an opportunity to exchange expertise between the two countries to achieve shared objectives in this regard.”
The ACA further noted that the meeting “constitutes an important step towards enhancing the partnership between Libya and Italy, as joint efforts between the two countries continue in the future to serve their mutual interests and promote peace, stability and sustainable development in the region.”
