Libya records 1379 new cases, 20 deaths of COVID-19

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) has reported on Thursday that 1,379 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 22 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 20 others died of the virus, while 1,902 have recovered during the same reporting period.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 316,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 229,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 4,343 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 103,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
