Libya records 495 new cases, 9 deaths of COVID-19

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Monday that 495 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 16 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 9 others died of the virus, while 2,192 have recovered during the same reporting period.

129 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 498,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 476,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 6,308 people in total. Over two million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over one million were fully vaccinated with two doses.
