The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) has reported on Tuesday that 551 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 13 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 16 others died of the virus, while 1,467 have recovered during the same reporting period.
227 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 347,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 272,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 4,808 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 285,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
