The national football team continued its resurgence in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, securing a valuable 2-0 victory over the visiting Eswatini team in a match held on Monday evening at the Benghazi International Stadium, as part of the eighth round of Group D competitions.
Moaz Issa opened the scoring early in the eighth minute, before Azzo Al-Maryami extended the lead with a second goal in the nineteenth minute. The “Mediterranean Knights” thus secured three important points, raising their tally to 14 in the group standings and continuing their streak of positive results with a second consecutive win in the qualifying campaign.
The national team hopes to continue these strong performances to boost its chances of competing for a qualification spot for the 2026 World Cup finals, amidst the great fan support witnessed at the Benghazi International Stadium.
