Libyan-American Partnership to Implement 1,000 Center-Pivot Irrigation Systems: National Development Authority Signs MoU with Farmtek

The Director General of the National Development Agency (NDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Farmtek, as part of a Libyan-American partnership aimed at implementing a project for 1,000 center-pivot irrigation systems. This initiative is a strategic national project designed to enhance food security, improve water resource management, and support the expansion of modern agriculture in Libya.

The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in the planning, development, and coordination of procurement and execution for the project. It aims to leverage specialized American expertise in irrigation technologies and agricultural machinery—including brands such as Valley and New Holland—provided through Farmtek within the project’s approved framework.

The National Development Agency emphasized that signing this memorandum aligns with its strategy to build effective international partnerships in vital sectors. It also solidifies the Agency’s role as Libya’s representative in executing strategic development projects, contributing to sustainable agricultural development and the reinforcement of national food security.
